IVE member Jang Won-young offered warm words of comfort to a fan struggling with concerns over appearance and weight. In a recent video released on the YouTube channel 'Harper's Bazaar Korea,' Jang took time to listen to and respond to various concerns shared by fans.

During the 'Let's Listen' segment of the video, several stories from fans were introduced. One fan expressed psychological distress regarding changes in their physical appearance, stating, "I feel upset because it feels like I'm the only one gaining weight, even though I eat the same meals as my family and don't eat extra snacks."

"There is a 99.9% chance it only looks that way to you"

Upon hearing the story, Jang Won-young first comforted the fan's feelings. "If that were true, it would be so, so upsetting," she said, expressing empathy. She then lightened the mood by using 'Nyeong-dung-i,' a nickname for the fan. "I think there is a 99.9% chance that our cute Nyeong-dung-i is so hyper-focused on their outward appearance right now that it only looks that way to your own eyes," Jang remarked, suggesting that one's self-perception can often be more negative than reality.

Jang encouraged the fan to regain their confidence. "In my eyes, our Nyeong-dung-i must be incredibly beautiful and cute," she asserted, advising the fan to accept themselves as they are in the mirror. Specifically, she advised, "I hope you can love yourself a little more and look at yourself in the mirror thinking, 'I am beautiful just the way I am.'"

"If that doesn't work, come back to me" — A witty conclusion

Jang used her characteristic wit to shift the atmosphere, which could have otherwise become heavy. After advising the fan to love themselves, she added, "And if that still doesn't work, come back to me again." She humorously expressed that the fan is welcome to seek help anytime if they struggle to find ways to love themselves.

As a member of IVE, Jang Won-young continues her musical activities while also being active in various fields, including commercials and photo shoots. This video captures her building an emotional bond with fans through direct communication.
